Eco-Printing with the Hammer Technique
Date: May 15th
Time: 6:30–8:30 PM
Location: 1300 S Polk Street, Suite 234

Join us for a hands-on evening of botanical discovery as we explore eco-printing using the hammer technique. This workshop introduces a playful and satisfying way to transfer the natural pigments from fresh leaves and flowers directly onto fabric.

Eco-printing is a natural dyeing process that uses plant materials to leave beautiful, detailed impressions on cloth. In this class, we’ll focus on the hammer (or "hapa-zome") method—an accessible and immediate technique where you’ll use pressure to create vibrant, one-of-a-kind prints on fabric.

You’ll learn:

  • How to identify and prepare botanical materials for eco-printing
  • The best fabrics to use and how to prep them
  • Basic composition tips to make your prints pop
  • How to fix and preserve your prints

All materials will be provided. You'll leave with your own eco-printed fabric samples and the skills to continue exploring this joyful process at home.

Ages 10 and up welcome with an accompanying adult.
Perfect for beginners, plant lovers, and anyone looking to get creative with nature.
